More Christmas Sewing

Another quick Christmas sewing project: simple potholders.

I’m glad that we’re seeing modern designs in the Christmas fabric selections, since these potholders are just one fabric per side. This time of year, I appreciate projects like this that are quick (not quite instant) gratification.

As with so many projects, I started this one on a whim. I decided these trees ( Sparkle all the Way from Robert Kaufman ) would look great with solids for a simple, modern table runner. I got the colors picked out, made the blocks , really like how they looked.

Then realized, right, trees clearly have bottom and a top. So, which way to orient the blocks for a table runner? All going the same way, like they’re laid out on the design wall? Turn a couple of them 180 degrees? So some will look right from each side of the table. Turn them all 90 degrees, so they’ll look right from the end of the table? Anyone got an opinion?
