Inspired by the back of my “Leafy” quilt, I’m toying with the idea of monochromatic color blocks (and yes, more yellow). Not sure if it’ll get past the design wall yet.
Fabulous as the online stores are, I really like shopping for my fabric in person where I can see and feel it for myself, but *sigh*, most of the quilt shops near me are pretty traditional in their fabric buying.
Still, I periodically check the local shops, hoping I’ll find a little bit of modern tucked among the traditional.
I got to one yesterday, just as it started to pour so I had plenty of time to browse while I waited for the rain to let up. A few bolts of Kona (including my favorite dark blue “Marine”), a Michael Miller stripe, a random fat quarter and alot of yellow later…
I just did a series of yellow-orange quilts, and I think my subconscious wants to do more, because I wasn’t looking for yellow, but this is what I kept picking up.
Either that or my subconscious just wanted the sun to come out. *shrug*
