Seeing other sites…

Link-clicking, or side-bar widget noticing readers may already know this, but I’ve transitioned some of my shop to artfire. I’m not sure I’m breaking up with etsy (where I’ve been off and on for a while) for good, but definitely seeing other sites.

I like the site alot, but it’s less well known, so I thought I’d show off a collection of items from AF for your browsing and or shopping pleasure. Enjoy!

Series-es

What is the plural of “series”? “Serieses”? “Series” the same as the singular? They both look/sound wrong, but then, I’m typing before the caffeine has fully kicked in on the Monday after a holiday weekend, so whatever the word is, I’m going to proceed. I’ve been doing this more and more lately – making not just one project, but a series of projects from the same set of fabrics.

Pinwheel Trivet

I made a few projects in orange and pink (pillow and quilt) after getting inspired making a custom quilt, and made even more in aqua (pillow, quilt, another pillow and a tablerunner ) and we won’t get into the “watercolors” Now I’m (obviously) onto a group of geometric apple-green prints.

Quilted Potholders

Much as I love quilts, there’s something so satisfying about small projects like this. I made potholders, trivets and pillows. There’s a table runner cut out and waiting for some attention, and another trivet from the last of the scraps.

Pillows..

These are all for the shop, which helps, since  I don’t have to worry about my own home becoming too apple-green with my projects.

Do you ever make multiple projects together? or is each one a distinct process for you?

Holiday cards

Now that we’re officially in the pre-Christmas season, I made more of my patchwork cards

handmade christmas cards red pachwork cards

These ones are all red and white patchwork – I like a card that’s festive, but versatile enough for all the different people and holidays I send them too.

And I made enough to put some on sale in my shop

Off the shelves

Modern Quilt - Cheerful Yellow Patchwork

I made this quilt months ago, then liked it so much I couldn’t decide whether to put it in the shop, so it sat on a shelf in my studio, which is no place for a quilt.

I finally came back to it, and listed it. (Though, if it didn’t sell, I wouldn’t be too terribly upset to keep it)

Sorry! I won’t get into it, but life has completely taken over my, well, life and kept me completely away from blog, flickr, even my sewing machine.

fresh modern bee pinwheel quilt block

I finally managed to get everything under control enough to get this month’s pinwheel bee-blocks sewn and mailed.

And love how they turned out – you know I love my white backgrounds, but these look great with the gray. I’ve been thinking about gray and blue, but the pink-orange-gray combination really caught my eye, and had me digging through my own stash..
